Moyes Has Earned United Job

Former United and Scotland striker Joe Jordan believes David Moyes will prove to be a "great appointment" as manager.

Moyes arrived at the Aon Training Complex on Monday to begin his tenure - replacing Sir Alex Ferguson at the helm.

Jordan, who led the line with distinction during his playing days and scored 41 times in 126 appearances for the Reds, is first-team coach at QPR and has a great deal of respect for his fellow countryman's work at Everton over the past decade.

"You can have a bit of banter about him being a Scot as United, in the past, have been associated with great Scottish managers," he explained. "But I think he’s earned his passage to manage United.

"I think it’s a great appointment. Not just because he’s Scottish. I think he will give every hour there is in the day to continue to do what’s right, what he thinks is right, to keep Manchester United where they have been and hopefully continue that success."
