MUTV To Be Shown In NZ

Manchester United and Sky announce MUTV partnership in New Zealand

Manchester United and Sky New Zealand have today announced a three-year agreement to bring its dedicated TV channel, MUTV to New Zealand.

Sky is the leading paid TV service in New Zealand with 120 dedicated channels covering sport, music, entertainment, on demand TV and much more.

With a cumulative audience of close to 1.5million for Manchester United matches in New Zealand, Sky is confident that MUTV will be popular with the country’s enthusiastic sports fans.

Manchester United's group managing director Richard Arnold comments:

“Manchester United’s popularity is ever-growing in New Zealand and with almost half of all households subscribing to Sky’s services, our fans can now become closer to the Club. Through our partnership with Sky they can access MUTV and experience exclusive behind the scenes footage, exclusive interviews as well as live match commentary.

“This is the latest expansion of our MUTV partnerships and we are delighted that this service is now available to fans across 57 territories worldwide.

“It’s great that Sky Sport in New Zealand will be screening Manchester United football games. Manchester United is one of the most recognised sports teams in the world and Kiwis love their football,” said Richard Last, Sky’s director of sport.

Sky's principal business activity is the distribution of both local and international programme content to its subscriber base, predominantly through a digital satellite network. It currently has over 846,000 subscribers taking up 49.8% of New Zealand’s paid TV audience. At the end of June 2013 it reported revenue of NZ$ 843 million.
