Mata Eyes Positive March
Juan Mata is confident of beating Liverpool and Manchester City when both local rivals visit Old Trafford in the Barclays Premier League this month.
The Spaniard was recently crowned United’s Player of the Month for February and, during an exclusive interview with ManUtd.com, he cast an eye over March and revealed why he's excited to face the Reds’ biggest adversaries.
“It is a crucial month for us and, to be honest, I am very positive about it. After being here for five games [before West Brom], I can feel it in the players that we have and the things that we can do,” Juan explained, stating his belief that United can climb the table.
“We know that we have to win as many games as we can until the end of the season and we have to start with this month. We play against very big teams like Liverpool and Manchester City and we will try to win as many points as we can."
Quizzed for his thoughts on the derby matches, Mata continued: “Well obviously, every time I watched a game between Man United and Man City, or Man United and Liverpool, you can see that the whole country is watching that game.
“It is a massive game for both teams, so now that I am here I will try to enjoy both matches. Obviously we will want to win and I think we can do it. We play both games at home and, in front of our supporters, we can do it.”
