Macheda Insists He Is Happy In England

On-loan Birmingham City striker Federico Macheda has insisted he is happy playing in England - but admits his future is likely to be away from parent club Manchester United.

The Italian has spent much of his career being loaned out from last season's Premier League champions, but says he still wants to play in England, even if not for the Red Devils.

The 22-year-old has scored nine goals for Birmingham since his temporary move to St Andrew's in January, the sixth different club he has played for in three years.

"In Birmingham things are going quite well, I'm scoring regularly," Macheda, who is out of contract in the summer, told calciomercato.it.

"My future? It's moving something important.

"I'd like to remain in England because I have grown up here with football.

"I think I won't return to Manchester regardless of the new coach."
