Fellaini Vows To Prove Worth

Marouane Fellaini insists he will prove his worth to Manchester United next season, admitting injuries have ruined his first year at Old Trafford.

The Belgian midfielder has endured a disappointing debut campaign at Old Trafford after his big-money arrival from Everton.

Fellaini is determined to put his difficulties behind him and win over the United fans next season.

"I will look to show what I can do next season," Fellaini told the Daily Telegraph. "For people to not forget me we have to win a trophy.

The 26-year-old also claimed injury problems have disrupted his progress at United this season with a series of niggles restricting him to 19 appearances in the Premier League.

"I need to be fit to be good," added Fellaini. "Even when I am injured I can play but the fitness is not the same.

"I was injured for three months and that was a difficult moment for me. When you arrive in a new team you want to play, you want to stay with the team and when you can't play it is difficult to see the team.

"When this season finishes I will start with my preparation for the next year and it will be good. I feel I know the players now. I know the club. It has been a good experience to be training with Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie."
