Young: United's Confidence Is Sky High
Monday's trip to Southampton provides a stern test for Manchester United, but Ashely Young remains confident of passing the challenge and insists his team-mates are riding the crest of a wave after four consecutive victories in the Barclays Premier League.
The Reds have gathered momentum by beating Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Hull and Stoke in the space of a month. Another three points at St Mary’s would propel Louis van Gaal's men ahead of Saints in the table up to third, and Young is determined to stretch United’s winning run to five matches.
"When you are winning games then confidence is always sky high," he told ManUtd.com ahead of Monday's visit to the south coast. "When you have been on a run of wins – both at home and away – then it is fantastic for confidence.
"Everybody is pulling in the right direction and feeling good and we will take that into the game against Southampton. It is going to be a big game and there are definitely no easy games in the Premier League.
"Southampton have started the season very well and are third in the league, so we know it is going to be tough. But if we can go there and produce displays like we have shown, especially in the last four matches, then I'm sure we can get the three points."
