Rojo Reveals Career Ambitions

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has set his sights on local, national and European superiority as his first season with the club continues to unfold.

The Argentinian arrived from Sporting Lisbon in the summer and has quietly impressed supporters with a series of all-action displays at centre-back. Now on the brink of returning from injury, he has clear hopes for the remainder of this campaign, starting with the next opportunity to beat Manchester City and his compatriots including Sergio Aguero.

"It’s vital we win the next Manchester derby at home in front of our own supporters - I think we are going to win that one,” insists Rojo in the new issue of Inside United magazine.

"As for expectations from now to the end of the season, well, to try and give my absolute best in every game until the end, and hope that we pick up some good results along the way so we can be in with a shout in the shake-up for the title."

Casting an eye over his next five years in a red shirt, Rojo adds: “My minimum objective this year is to qualify for next year’s Champions League. It would be great to pick up a European trophy with this club. That and a league title is what I really want to win.”
