Blind: We Must React Against West Brom

Daley Blind admits his Manchester United team-mates want to show a positive reaction to recent defeats at Chelsea and Everton by seeing off West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Louis van Gaal's men have taken giant strides in recent months, stringing together vastly improved performances and recording invaluable victories over a number of top-four rivals. The momentum has slowed as a result of the disappointing losses at Stamford Bridge and Goodison Park but those results have also sharpened the mind, as Blind explains in Saturday's United Review.

"When you lose 3-0 at Everton then you are very disappointed, that’s true," the Netherlands international says. "We want to make it right in the next game. To be honest, I wanted to play this game against West Brom on Monday [the day after losing at Everton] so that we could move on straightaway. I think the team wants to show a reaction to the last two games. It is the first time this season that we have lost twice in a row, but now we have a home game with the crowd behind us. We saw how our fans reacted in the game at Everton. They were amazing, they were there until the end and I think that is great support. We have to pay them back by winning against West Brom."

Van Gaal felt United were a bit flat during the warm-up at Everton and were subsequently outplayed by the Toffees. Blind believes the players are always trying their best to win, but accepts the manager might have a point.

"It is always hard to say as you are not going into the game with the feeling that we are only going to give 50 per cent. You go into every game thinking you are giving 100 per cent. But I understand what the manager means. I can talk for the team and say that everybody knows what has to be done against West Brom, and everybody wants to give 100 per cent in every game."
