David De Gea Wins Players' Player Of The Year Prize

The Manchester United players have voted David De Gea their Player of the Year for the second season in a row, highlighting the Spaniard’s magnificent form and consistency during 2014/15.

De Gea, who revealed he voted for his fellow Spaniard Juan Mata as his star man for the campaign, claimed the prize last season and has maintained his high standards throughout Louis van Gaal's debut season at Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old was his team-mates' pick for the prize having scooped the accolade for his displays in 2013/14 as well and he thanked them for their votes.

"I want to say thank you to my team-mates, they have been fantastic this season and I love them. We have a great dressing room and I would like to say thank you very much," said De Gea after being presented with his award by club captain Wayne Rooney.

When asked about his favourite save of the season, the Spaniard said simply: "I think for the goalkeepers any save is important to help the team. I am very pleased [with the award] and I only want to say thank you to my team-mates."
