Evans: My US Travel Tips
As we count down to Tour 2015, presented by Aon, we've been putting some quickfire tour questions to the players. Here, Jonny Evans looks back on past visits to the United States and elsewhere on tour...
Favourite tour?
Last year was probably my favourite given we won the tournament and played some good teams - it made it a little bit more interesting.
Stand-out tour game?
Probably playing against Real Madrid [in 2014]. It was a great occasion to play in that game and the fans packed out the stadium, over 100,000 of them, so that was a very good experience.
Best thing about fans on tour?
I think the fact that even though some of them have never seen us play they still have such great enthusiasm for the club. It's great to see the passion they have for United.
Best city visited?
I'd probably say New York.
Favourite tour experience?
When we went to the Rocky Steps [in 2010].
Most enjoyable thing about pre-season training?
A bit of sunshine! [Laughs]
Hardest thing about pre-season training?
Definitely the running.
Music and box-set choice for tour?
I’m going to go with Mumford and Sons and The Office, specifically the US version.
Ideal room-mate?
None of them! [Laughs]
Best thing about visiting America?
The food! [Laughs]
