Robson Thanks Fans For Their Support
Manchester United Legends boss Bryan Robson was quick to acknowledge the part the supporters played in a wonderful day out at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Robson's squad of former stars saw off Bayern Munich 4-2 in an entertaining affair to clinch the trophy after a 7-5 aggregate triumph as the crowd enjoyed an exciting occasion and raised over £800,000 for the Manchester United Foundation in the process.
"It was a great turn-out from the fans and I've got to thank them," Robson told MUTV afterwards. "They make this day. It was very similar to the Munich game over there, which was 3-3, as there were loads of goals and it was entertaining for the fans.
"Bayern are a class club. They do everything with a bit of class and are really friendly towards other clubs. A big thanks to them as they brought such a big squad across here and have given us a really good game.
"It's been a very good day. It's mean to be a family day out and that is what the fans have got today and when we played against Real Madrid [in 2013]."
