Bastian Pleased To Have His Favorite Number

Bastian Schweinsteiger has admitted having the no.31 shirt he made his own at Bayern Munich has helped him keep some familiarity at Manchester United.

The Germany star is wearing the jersey with Marouane Fellaini switching to no.27, the first number he wore in professional football. It may only seem a trivial matter but Schweinsteiger accepts small details like this are helping him to settle at Old Trafford.

"Yeah it does a little bit," he replied to MUTV when asked if it has aided his adaptation. "I was happy that the coach gave me the no.31 and was really surprised as well.

"So thank you to Felli too. For me, I played there since I played my first game for Bayern and 31 means a lot to me. I didn’t expect the coach would give me the number but he decided, and the club decided, and it gives me a little bit more feeling like I’m at home, yes."
