Blind: United Aren't Boring
Daley Blind has rejected claims that Manchester United are dull and insists the team will soon improve their goalscoring rate.
United hit the goal trail in style in their Champions League play-off against Club Brugge on Wednesday night, winning 4-0 to progress 7-1 on aggregate.
But it has been a different story in the Premier League. They have only scored twice in three games – a Kyle Walker own goal and a deflected Adnan Januzaj strike – and they will be keen to improve on that tally when they travel to Swansea.
They have, however, picked up clean sheets in four of their five games this season, something Blind feels is a signal of their "compact" style under manager Louis van Gaal.
Blind, who has been converted to a centre-back from central midfield this term, is also confident the team will soon find their scoring boots in domestic football.
"We are playing really compact now and that's something he (Van Gaal) demands," he told Soccer Saturday. "One of his strengths is that we are always strong in defence and that he always knows the opponents well.
"There are never any surprises against us because we are so well prepared.
"I think it is (unfair to say the team is boring), we want to play attacking football and I think everyone can see that.
"We defend very well and we create a lot of chances when we attack, we just need to score more goals but the goals will come."
