United Face Club Brugge In Champions League Play-off
Manchester United will face Club Brugge in the Champions League play-off round, having been pitted against the Belgian side at the draw in Nyon on Friday.
The games against Brugge will be played on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 26 August, with the opening leg at Old Trafford. This will be the first time the Reds have entered the competition at this stage since 2005, when a 6-0 aggregate victory over Hungarian club Debreceni gave Sir Alex Ferguson’s men a safe passage to the group stages.
Brugge, who reached the play-off round by coming from behind to defeat Panathinaikos 4-2 on aggregate, have never played the Reds before in a competitive fixture.
