Van Gaal Insists Januzaj Is "Not For Sale"
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal insists Adnan Januzaj is "not for sale" and is happy with the winger’s efforts in training.
Januzaj was not involved in the Reds’ opening-day win over Tottenham Hotspur and van Gaal was asked by reporters at his press conference what the Belgian needed to do to get into the squad.
"I have 28 players and I have to select every week, and maybe every three days," the manager said.
"Last week I chose other players. He is doing his utmost best – all the players are doing that. I don't have any complaints."
Another player hoping to force his way into the side is Javier Hernandez, who was an unused substitute for the 1-0 win over Spurs.
Van Gaal added: "The striker is Rooney and Chicharito is the second striker, and he knows that."
Asked whether he was happy with his squad, the boss said: "Always our aim is to improve our squad and when it is possible we shall do it.
"I have said more than once that we only buy when we think it is a contribution for our squad."
