Shaw Recovering Well From Broken Leg
Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is continuing his recovery programme behind the scenes at the Aon Training Complex following the broken leg he sustained against PSV Eindhoven in September.
The left-back is working hard in the gym and swimming pool, with a view to making a first-team return in 2016.
Writing in his United Review column on Tuesday night, Louis van Gaal said: "I would like to give you an update on Luke Shaw as his recovery is something I am asked about a lot by fans.
"Luke is progressing well and is doing as well as we could have hoped at this stage. We are not putting any timings on his recovery or a return, as it is important that we allow nature to take its course.
"Luke is working hard during his recuperation to keep his body in the best possible condition. He is receiving plenty of messages of encouragement from supporters, which I know that he appreciates."
Meanwhile, Shaw is one of three United stars to feature on the 40-man shortlist for the Golden Boy award. Adnan Januzaj and Anthony Martial are also in the running for the annual prize, handed out to the best Under-21 player in Europe, as voted by several newspapers on the continent.
