Mata: We Must Give Everything
Manchester United forward Juan Mata pens his latest weekly blog and says the Reds must give everything in every game, none more so than in the vital Champions League clash away to Wolfsburg...
Hi everyone,
I know this is not the best day to write this blog, nor to read it, but let's try to be positive as always, because there's still a long way to go. Of course, I understand that you are frustrated, because we are too, but we have to keep looking ahead, give everything in each game, and we will get the results that we want. What we have to do now is not to mourn but to stand up and try to improve. We are the first ones who want to win and to go back to a good streak, and we know that the only way to get there is by sticking together.
Last Saturday's game against West Ham came to show how difficult it is to get the three points if you don't take your chances, especially the first few opportunities that you have (obviously, your confidence increases if you score first). It's fair to say that they had chances to take the lead, but thanks to David and the posts we ended up with a clean sheet, which is one of the positive conclusions that we can take from this game and from the season in general. We are aware that we must improve our game and how we finalise our plays (the most important thing), and that's what we are working for at the training complex every single day.
As you know, this Tuesday we have a really important game. We play in Germany against Wolfsburg and it's likely that we'll need to win in order to reach the next stage. We all know how tough it is to play against German teams at their stadiums, it's a big challenge, but we believe that we can get our ticket to the next round of the Champions League there, and also a boost of confidence for this busy month of December.
Hugs,
Juan
