Why Herrera Loves Fan Mail

Ander Herrera is "thankful and proud" to receive so much mail from Manchester United fans and the Spaniard is determined to reward such support with success on the pitch.

On Wednesday evening, the increasingly popular midfielder uploaded a photo of him at home replying to fan mail and captioned his post with the words: “Nice to receive letters from United’s fans around the world. Thanks for your support and affection.”

During an exclusive interview with ManUtd.com on Thursday afternoon, Herrera explained why he enjoys responding to his many letters. “That's Man United, we receive a lot of letters from fans from around the world. They are always showing their affection and support, it's fantastic. I always say thank you to them, but it's not enough. We have to win for them and make them proud by winning games and titles.

“My girlfriend helps me with them sometimes and also my mum and my sister. We read the letters together and they are fantastic. The letters are from places like Thailand, China, Japan, a lot from Poland and America too, they come from everywhere. The fans ask me to keep fighting for this club and make them proud. It makes me feel very proud because we have a lot of people behind us.”

Herrera has now added his name next to Morgan Schneiderlin, Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira and Juan Mata on a burgeoning list of United players who have posted about fan mail on social media in recent months.

HOW CAN FANS WRITE TO A PLAYER?

The players do not have their own email addresses but you can write to them direct. However, as a word of warning, they are unable to respond to every single letter due to the large volume of mail they receive.

The address to write to is:

Name of player
Manchester United Football Club Limited
Aon Training Complex
Birch Road off Isherwood Road
Carrington, Manchester M31 4BH
