Wayne Rooney's 100 Premier League Old Trafford Goals In Numbers

Wayne Rooney smashed a special century on Tuesday night when he scored his 100th Premier League goal at Old Trafford.

The Manchester United captain opened the scoring against Bournemouth in Tuesday night's rearranged clash to become only the second player, after Thierry Henry, to score 100 Premier League goals on one ground.

Here's a breakdown in numbers of how he has scored them, when he has scored them and who he has scored them against…

Landmarks

Rooney's first Premier League goal at Old Trafford came on October 24, 2004 when he scored in injury time in a 2-0 win over Arsenal.

That was his third Premier League appearance at the stadium after two appearances for Everton and one against Middlesbrough during his first season in United colours.

His first league hat-trick at Old Trafford came on January 23, 2010 when he scored three in a 4-0 win over Hull City.

His only other league hat-trick on home turf for United came against Arsenal in the famous 8-2 victory on August 23, 2011. His four other league trebles for United have been scored away from home.

How has he scored them?

According to Opta data, the century goal against Bournemouth on Tuesday night was typical of the forward.

Of the 100 scored that was his 77th goal with his right foot and his 89th from inside the penalty area.

Ten of the goals were penalties with four coming direct from free-kicks. He has scored 11 of the 100 goals with his head.

Who has he scored them against?

Rooney will be sad to see the back of relegated Aston Villa after scoring nine of his 100 goals against them - that's three more than he has managed against any other side.

Rooney's first Old Trafford goal came against Arsenal and he has notched six against them in total - including that hat-trick in 2011.

When it comes to Manchester United's biggest rivals, he has managed four Old Trafford league goals against Liverpool, three against Manchester City and two against his former club Everton.

Tuesday was his first Premier League home goal against Bournemouth and he has scored against 18 of the 20 teams competing in the Premier League in 2015/16.

The only sides he hasn't scored against are his own club Manchester United and Premier League champions Leicester.

When has he scored them?

Rooney has scored 45 of the 100 goals in the first half and 55 in the second half.

The goal against Bournemouth was the first to come in the 43rd minute. His favourite minute to score in is the eighth minute, with four goals recorded at that time.

He has scored twice in the opening minute and three times in injury time at the end of the second half.

How does he compare?

Rooney now needs 14 more Premier League goals at Old Trafford to match Henry's tally of 114 goals scored for Arsenal at Highbury.

Alan Shearer scored 180 Premier League goals at home - but those were split over two grounds with 97 for Newcastle at St James' Park and 83 for Blackburn at Ewood Park.
