Zlatan: I Always Stay In Shape

Manchester United new boy Zlatan Ibrahimovic has posted footage of himself running ahead of his first season at Old Trafford, with a caption that has become typical of the Swedish striker.

Using his official Instagram account - which every Reds fan should follow via @IAmZlatanIbrahimovic - our new signing uploaded a 15-second video of himself on a treadmill with the accompanying description: “No need to get in shape, I stay in shape. Hard work pays off.”

Ibrahimovic had earlier posted a photo showing his impressive physique in a mountainous area, with a teasing caption of “Somewhere in the world”. It is presumed that United’s new recruit is pictured at the Grand Canyon in Nevada, after he was seen attending the UFC 200 event in Las Vegas at the weekend.

Zlatan signed for the Reds on 1 July and the former Paris Saint-Germain and Sweden star explained during his first MUTV interview that he would take a well-earned holiday with his family, following a long 2015/16 season that concluded with his participation at this summer's European Championship in France.

It remains unclear whether Jose Mourinho will name the new recruit in his squad for the first leg of Tour 2016, presented by Aon, which will pit United against Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City in China. A third match against Galatasaray will follow in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 30 July.

Ibrahimovic's first appearance as a United player at Old Trafford is likely to be registered in Wayne Rooney's testimonial against Everton on 3 August. Tickets are available at manutd.com/rooneytestimonial.
