Duo Fit To Face Liverpool

Jose Mourinho has told MUTV that Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are available for selection ahead of Manchester United's Premier League blockbuster at Liverpool on Monday.

Shaw has not featured since suffering an injury during the 3-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road on 18 September, which has since led to Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind both filling in at left-back.

Summer signing Mkhitaryan last appeared in the Manchester derby on 10 September, but the six-time Armenian Player of the Year has now recovered full fitness in time for the trip to Merseyside. He notably scored at Anfield last season when facing Liverpool with former club Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League.

Mourinho revealed both players are available during his interview with MUTV at the Aon Training Complex on Friday, when he also confirmed that all of his international players have returned to United without any injuries.

The manager went on to congratulate Jesse Lingard on his senior England debut and a second appearance against Slovenia, as well as Ander Herrera on his first senior call-up with Spain.

"I like my players to go to the international teams," Mourinho said. "I'm always very proud of my players to be selected. And especially these two that you refer to. One was a debutant, the other was a call-up to the Spanish team. It's obviously important for them and it's good for me and I think also the club feels proud of it."
