Fantastic Week For Fosu-Mensah

Timothy Fosu-Mensah has had a memorable few days at Manchester United - signing a new deal with the Reds and subsequently playing in the Europa League win over Fenerbahce.

The ink had barely dried on the highly-rated defender's contract when he made his 13th first-team appearance, coming on as 75th-minute substitute in the Reds’ 4-1 victory.

Fosu-Mensah told MUTV: "I feel very happy. It [the contract] shows that the club has a lot of confidence in me and I just want to pay them back with my performances on the pitch. I hope this is the first of many. I'll keep trying to develop myself."

The 18-year-old, who faces stiff competition from Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian for a place at right-back, felt he adapted quickly to a cameo role in central midfield against Fenerbahce after replacing two-goal hero Paul Pogba.

"I've not played there for a long time," admitted Tim. "I've played there a lot for the Under-18s and Under-21s and it was a little bit different but as soon as I was on the pitch it felt good."
