Fellaini Working Hard To Win Mourinho's Trust
Marouane Fellaini believes Jose Mourinho has already made a positive impact at Manchester United and has praised the new manager’s training methods and unrelenting desire to win.
The Belgium international is now in his fourth season at Old Trafford after joining the Reds from fellow north-west club Everton in the summer of 2013. Mourinho is his third boss at the club and, although we are only three months into the campaign, Fellaini is certain the man at the helm can achieve success.
“The players are all listening to the staff,” Fellaini explains in an exclusive interview with United Review, the programme for tonight’s Europa League match against Fenerbahce.
“He's obviously a very good manager who puts on good training sessions which are always different, and that's important. He knows what he wants and the levels are high, so he always wants to keep up the pressure. It's good to work for him."
Asked what is specifically different about Mourinho, Fellaini continues: “He's always working towards the objective: to win. That's why we're here. A club like Man United has to win.”
Marouane has featured in eight of United’s 11 matches this season, either as a starter or substitute, and he agrees it has given him confidence to know such a renowned manager has faith in him.
"Yeah, of course,” he explains in the programme. “Look, I work every day in training, I show myself, I think he trusts me. I will do everything I can on the pitch and always give my best, so he can trust me, and that is the most important thing: when the manager trusts you. We have a good squad, good players and competition is high and so that's why you have to push yourself all the time.”
