Young: More To Come From Pogba

Ashley Young insists there is more to come from Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Pogba re-joined Old Trafford from Juventus for a world-record £89m fee, but has picked up some criticism in recent weeks for under-par performances.

The 23-year-old went on to score twice in United's 4-1 Europa League win over Fenerbahce on Thursday evening, prompting manager Jose Mourinho to criticise the 'Einsteins' in the media who have judged Pogba too quickly. 

Young, who has been at United since 2011, told Soccer Saturday that both the Frenchman and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have fit into the dressing room seamlessly, and that Pogba has already shown what he can bring to the side.

"He's a fantastic player, and obviously there's more to come from him. He showed it in different games that he's talented, he's been like that since he was first here, and he has settled back into the team.

"[Ibrahimovic] is another one, I think a lot has been said about him, the arrogant side of him, but he's been fantastic, they've both been brilliant.

"They've walked into the dressing room, and it's comfortable for them to do that, like I say, the team spirit has been brilliant and they're settling really well."

United, who sit seventh in the Premier League after eight games, go to Chelsea on Super Sunday live on Sky Sports 1, as Mourinho returns to his old stomping ground.

Young, who has appeared six times for United under Mourinho, says everyone at the club wants to win for the Portuguese boss, though the clash at Stamford Bridge will be more about the players on the pitch, not his return to west London.

"I think there will be a lot of talk about [Mourinho's return] in the press, and as players we don't talk about it, we concentrate on ourselves and what happens on the pitch.

"The manager will obviously be questioned about it, but us as players and professionals you know what's in hand and what the job is to do.

"I think after the first day he stepped in this building, and everybody loved him, he's got that character which is a born winner.

"He hasn't been at the clubs he's been at, and won the things he has, for no reason, you can see that after a couple days of coming in, stamping his authority and stamping his mark. Everyone wants to play for him and win for him.

"It's fantastic to play for this club, and when you've got players like this you know you've got to be on the top of your game."
