Schneiderlin Close To Leaving
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho admits he has mixed feelings about Morgan Schneiderlin's seemingly imminent departure to Everton.
When asked on Tuesday evening about the French midfielder's future, the manager revealed: "I have no details but before the match, I was informed by Mr Woodward that the situation is close so Morgan is more than probably going to Everton."
Mourinho added in his post-match press conference: "I'm sad and I'm happy. I'm sad because I like him and he could be an option for us in a long season. I'm happy because this is what he wants, he wants to play every game and wants to be an important player in the team.
"If this is what he wants I'm happy for a very good professional and someone that I can only say good things about."
Schneiderlin joined United from Southampton in the summer of 2015 and made 39 appearances in his first season under Louis van Gaal's management, scoring one goal - against Everton at Goodison Park.
This season, the France international has made only three starts and five substitute appearances, with the fierce competition for places in midfield being intensified by the signing of his compatriot Paul Pogba.
ManUtd.com will be the first website to confirm Schneiderlin's transfer should it be completed.
