Mourinho Drops Europa League Team Hint

Jose Mourinho has dropped another clue relating to his Manchester United line-up for next week's Europa League final against Ajax.

After already revealing Sergio Romero will start in Sweden, the Reds boss, speaking ahead of the game at Southampton, intimated that one of the main questions he has to answer is whether Chris Smalling or Phil Jones gets the nod at the heart of the defence.

When asked if his players were still competing for spots in the Stockholm side, Mourinho replied: "Of course, yes. That's what the people who are having opportunities are doing in the last matches.

"If Eric Bailly is not playing the final, who plays the final? Smalling or Jones? It is these kind of questions that I have to answer."

Bailly is ruled out through suspension after his red card against Celta Vigo in the semi-final at Old Trafford while, given recent selections, the comments suggest Daley Blind is in line to start against his former club.
