Mourinho: I Will Rest Big Names Against Palace
Jose Mourinho says he intends to field an extremely weakened side for Manchester United's concluding Premier League match of the season, which is being played just three days before they contest the Europa League final.
The Reds boss made his comments shortly after his side had edged their way past Celta Vigo at the semi-final stage.
United, who beat the Spanish club 2-1 on aggregate, will now face Ajax in Stockholm in the final on May 24.
However, before travelling to Stockholm, United face games against Tottenham, Southampton and Crystal Palace.
The final fixture is at home to the Eagles, who may still require some points to guarantee their top-tier status for next season.
Mourinho said: "For Ajax, their league finishes on Sunday and they will have 12 days to prepare for the final.
"But we have three Premier League matches to play. Hopefully, Crystal Palace don't need to win the last game.
"Because, in the last game, I'm going to play a lot of changes. And it doesn't matter what happens. This is an opportunity to win a trophy and qualify for the Champions League."
He also had an interesting analysis of United during his maiden season at Old Trafford, adding: "When we play well, we don't score enough goals and when we don't play well, we're in trouble. This is basically our style."
