Mourinho Quiet On Antoine Griezmann

Jose Mourinho refused to be drawn on Manchester United's reported pursuit of Antoine Griezmann after winning the Europa League final on Wednesday.

The Atletico Madrid player said earlier in the week that his chances of joining United were "six out of 10" and was then quoted by L'Equipe as saying he is "ready to go" and wants to win titles.

Sky Sports Spanish football expert Guillem Balague said he thought United's chances of signing Griezmann hinged on their success in the Europa League final.

But Mourinho was reluctant to comment about Griezmann after the 2-0 win over Ajax in Stockholm that secured United's place in next season's Champions League.

"I do not want to talk about Griezmann because that would be disrespectful to his club, Atletico," he told BeIN Sports.

"Just how I do not like others talking about by my players, I'm not going to talk about Antoine either."

Mourinho did, though, highlight the significance of winning the Europa League in his debut season at Old Trafford.

"It meant a lot," he said. "It means playing in the Champions League, winning our third title and winning a cup that this club had not won.

"United, as a club, are at the highest level, but the team has lived through difficult times in the last three years. We are under construction, but there is no better way to build a team than to win.

"We return to the Champions League, but not as favourites. We return by winning a title, an important title, it's better than finishing fourth, third or second."
