Pogba Focused On Arsenal Challenge
Paul Pogba says Manchester United must move on quickly from Thursday's win over Celta Vigo, and is already targeting victory over Arsenal this weekend.
The midfielder was a standout performer as the Reds secured a 1-0 win in Spain, courtesy of Marcus Rashford's superb free-kick, a result which moves Jose Mourinho's men a step closer to the Europa League final and Champions League qualification.
Pogba was naturally delighted to come away with a positive result, but says attention must now turn to Sunday's important clash against the Gunners.
"It was a good result for us against Celta, and a very important goal," he told MUTV. "We now need to focus on the second leg and have another big game coming up too, against Arsenal. We have to get our head into this game, and then we can think about the second leg.
"I feel good, but you have to be careful as well. It's not finished, we won 1-0 in Spain and the team did a good job, but we'll have to be focused for the next game. It's the objective for us, and it would be great to win the competition. As I said, we're not there yet, we have to keep going and be focused on the next game."
Of course, the Reds can also qualify for the Champions League by securing a top-four finish in the Premier League, and while the Frenchman remains confident that goal is still achievable, he says the fans have a big part to play.
"Of course, we have to believe," he added. "Obviously, we want to do it and we can. Of course we're strong enough, we are Manchester United and we can do this. To be in the top four, our mind has to go there, and we also want to win the Europa League. We have to keep our heads on the challenge and the big objective; we want to achieve the big goals, not the small ones. We're confident of that. We're young and fresh.
"The crowd has to be as good as today, even with [the noise of] the Celta Vigo fans, we could hear them. They give us energy, so we need them - they always help us. They don't know it, but when we're on the field and hear them shouting our names, it pushes us to the limit. Our support is very good; we need the fans and want to win for them."
