Team News For Carrick Match

The confirmed line-ups for Michael Carrick's testimonial match feature some stellar names under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson and Harry Redknapp.

For the Manchester United 2008 XI, Edwin van der Sar starts behind Nemanja Vidic and his former partner in the Reds' central defence, Rio Ferdinand. Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs grace the Old Trafford turf once again in midfield, where they are joined by Ji-sung Park, Darren Fletcher and of course Carrick himself as captain. Wayne Rooney leads the line as a lone striker.

Carrick's younger brother Graeme starts on the substitutes bench alongside the likes of former skipper Gary Neville and two ex-number 9s, Louis Saha and Dimitar Berbatov.

Michael Carrick's All-Star XI, managed by Redknapp, has Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher and Chelsea stalwart John Terry starting in defence and expecting a warm reception from the Old Trafford faithful. Clarence Seedorf, Marcos Senna and Gaizka Mendieta feature in midfield, whilst Robbie Keane and former United forward Michael Owen are up front for the visitors.
