Jose Interrupts MUTV Show With Team News
Jose Mourinho interrupted MUTV’s first live show of this summer’s pre-season tour to provide some team news on his goalkeepers for Manchester United’s first three matches in the US.
Mourinho and his squad arrived in Los Angeles on Sunday night for Tour 2017, presented by Aon, and were straight to work with a training session at the University of California on Monday morning.
The Reds’ first tour game is against LA Galaxy on Saturday, followed by an encounter with Real Salt Lake on 18 July and a derby against Manchester City on 21 July. Later on the tour, United will play Real Madrid and Barcelona in the US followed by Valerenga in Oslo and finally Sampdoria in Dublin.
While presenter Stewart Gardner was talking pitchside to pundits Paddy Crerand and David May during Inside The Tour on MUTV, Mourinho came over to say hello, before divulging his rotation plan for the three keepers in his party – David De Gea, Sergio Romero and Joel Pereira.
"The first match, Romero does not play,” Jose said. “We play David for 45 and the kid [Pereira] for 45.
"In the second match, David does not play. We play the kid for 45 and Romero for 45. The third match against Man City, we don't play Joel. We will play David for 45 and Romero for 45."
