Your Tour Briefing: Thursday In 6 Key Points

Your Tour Briefing is a daily update that keeps you informed of the news around Manchester United during the club’s time in the USA. Here’s what you need to know from Thursday…

1: LUKAKUS’S CLUB RECORD
Romelu Lukaku is yet to make a Manchester United appearance, yet our new arrival from Everton has already carved out a small piece of history by breaking a club social media record. Saturday morning’s tweet that announced a transfer fee had been agreed with Everton is now @ManUtd’s most retweeted post of all time, with over 93,000 fans sharing it on Twitter.

2: WORKER BEES ON DERBY SHIRTS
It has been announced that both United and City will have Manchester worker bees stitched into the shirts that will be worn in this month’s first-ever derby on foreign soil. Following the match at Houston’s NRG Stadium, each club will make the match-worn jerseys available for fans to purchase, via auction, with all proceeds going to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund – which was set up in May to help those affected by the terrorist attack at the Manchester Arena. Read more here.

3: BLIND SENDS STRENGTH TO NOURI
Daley Blind and everybody at Manchester United is thinking of Abdelhak Nouri after the AFC Ajax player suffered serious brain damage during a friendly match on Saturday. Speaking to MUTV, our Dutch international said: “I just feel very sad and I wish his family, his friends and everyone who is involved with him all of the best and we send all of the strength that they need.” Read the full interview here.

4: THE PRETTY WOMAN RETURNS
No, that is not the title of the long-awaited sequel, but a nod to Julia Roberts watching United train for the second time this week. The Oscar-winning actress first visited the UCLA campus on Tuesday afternoon and Juan Mata posted a photo with here on Instagram. She was back on Thursday morning, too, watching from the sidelines as Jose Mourinho put the Reds through their paces. Marouane Fellaini posted this photo.

5: MOURINHO CHASES MONAGHAN
Lord of the Rings and Lost actor Dominic Monaghan also attended training for an upcoming MUTV documentary with Juan Mata and the lifelong Red initially had pictures with several players, but not the manager. However, amusingly, that all changed when the boss realised his children would not be pleased if he didn’t grab a snap, prompting him to shout after him following their chat for a photo. Check out Dom's excited tweet here.

6: CONDOLENCES TO RIO FERDINAND
We would like to finish by expressing our upmost sympathy for club legend Rio Ferdinand following the tragic news that his mother has passed away. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.
