Boss Has Faith In McTominay & Tuanzebe

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has told MUTV he has no qualms about pitching Scott McTominay and Axel Tuanzebe into first-team action during the busy festive period.

The Reds plan to bounce back from the Manchester derby defeat when Bournemouth visit Old Trafford on Wednesday, before travelling to West Bromwich Albion at the weekend. A Carabao Cup quarter-final at Bristol City is then next on the agenda, ahead of the pre-Christmas fixture at Leicester City.

McTominay has regularly been in the squad of late and was on the bench for Sunday's clash with Pep Guardiola's Blues, while Tuanzebe has looked the part when appearing in defence - with his latest outing coming in the UEFA Champions League victory over CSKA Moscow.

"I have faith in them," the manager told MUTV during an interview at the Aon Training Complex last week. "Honestly, sometimes, I don't play them more because I have respect for some of the older players that are great professionals and are always ready for the team.

"But, in terms of their qualities, McTominay and Tuanzebe are ready, they are ready to play so I played them with 25, 30 minutes to go against CSKA. I played Scott against Benfica when we had not even yet qualified. I have lots of faith in both of them."
