Wan-Bissaka the star man at Wolves

Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been voted the Reds’ Man of the Match in Monday’s 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 21-year-old, who was playing in just his second competitive game for United, put in a superb showing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men at Molineux.

Wan-Bissaka was solid and resolute in defence, and limited Jonny Otto on the Wolves left to very few chances.

Even the tricky Diogo Jota, who often floated into wide positions during the game, failed to cause the full-back any real problems. In fact, it is no surprise that the hosts’ goal came from a corner, when Aaron was temporarily pulled out of position.

Our no.29 also made nine tackles against Wolves - three times more than any other United player - and won 11 duels.

It wasn’t just defensively where the former Crystal Palace man excelled, but also on the front foot.

Aaron was so impressive in attacking situations he actually forced Jonny to defend inside his own half for large periods - in particular in the first period.

The defender linked up well with other new recruit Dan James on the right-hand side and on several occasions he bypassed the Welshman and delivered dangerous crosses into the Wolves box.

It was the second game in a row that Wan-Bissaka put in a great performance for the Reds, as he did in last week’s 4-0 victory against Chelsea.

This week, the youngster claimed 48% of the votes from our fans in the Man-of-the-Match poll, just ahead of goalscorer Anthony Martial, who earned 41%, while Daniel James was in third with 12%.
