Triple boost for United ahead of Blades encounter
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has received a fitness boost as three of his injured players worked with the main group at the Aon Training Complex on Wednesday.
Our cameras were at the Reds' base to cover the session, ahead of Sunday's return to Premier League action at Sheffield United.
Although a number of the squad were not back from their international exertions, there were some positive signs that Ole's prediction relating to having more options available for this busy spell is set to be proved right.
Luke Shaw, who has been absent since the match against Crystal Palace in August, was training as he continues to work his way back to full fitness.
Another defender, Axel Tuanzebe, also looks to be on the way back after pulling out of the draw with Liverpool during the warm-up.
Nemanja Matic is another Red who has been sidelined, but he could be available again soon. A return for the Serbian could be timely, as Scott McTominay did not train with his colleagues after picking up an ankle injury in our last fixture, the win over Brighton & Hove Albion.
Three players worked away from the main group as they stepped up their return to fitness. Eric Bailly and Tim Fosu-Mensah, who have both been long-term absentees after knee operations, had a special session with Diogo Dalot.
A number of youngsters, such as Teden Mengi, Di'Shon Bernard, Largie Ramazani and D'Mani Mellor, also took part.
Ashley Young is back from suspension for the match against the Blades and we await further updates from the boss during his pre-match press conference on Friday, which you can watch on MUTV and via our Official App.
