BRANDON WILLIAMS IS CONFIDENT ABOUT UNITED'S EUROPEAN FATE
Brandon Williams is convinced Manchester United will feast at the top table of European football next season.
The Reds, who missed out a top four place last season, have had to be content with the Europa League this term, where we are currently on course to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.
However, if we avoid defeat at top four rivals Leicester City on Sunday, Champions League football will return to Old Trafford once again.
After battling back to a 1-1 draw with the Hammers, which elevated the Reds up to third in the Premier League table, Williams insists the Reds will be nerveless when we come up against the Foxes at the King Power Stadium.
“Of course we wanted the victory [against West Ham], but we got a result that's put us in the position we wanted to be in, inside the top four,” our left back told MUTV.
“We’ve got to go there now [to Leicester] with full confidence that we'll win, because we're the biggest club in the world and we need to be playing where this club needs to be playing which is the Champions League.”
United are in the top four for the first time since last September and it has been a remarkable climb into the coveted positions as well as a timely one.
“We've managed to get to where we are now and we're in the position that we need to defend, so we're going there with full confidence that we're going to play Champions League football.
“We're going there to win and not to have any nerves going there. Just doing what we need to do.
The Reds went behind against the Hammers on Wednesday evening, after Michail Antonio converted a spot kick due to a Paul Pogba handball, but Mason Greenwood levelled the match shortly after the interval, with the teenager's 17th goal of the season.
“We got the goal and had the momentum, but then we lost it all and we sat back,” said Brandon.
“But as I said, we've got a result that's taken us above Leicester and we'll go in there with full confidence.”
Williams has suffered a couple of face knocks in the last couple of weeks, especially in our 2-2 draw with Southampton, but the youngster believes he will have a clear head on Sunday when United make the journey to the East Midlands.
“I'm fine now. I've recovered from that and I'm just focused on the next game now,” he added.
