MU FOUNDATION TAKE PART IN 'REMEMBER A CHARITY WEEK'
Manchester United Foundation is one of over 200 charities taking part in ‘Remember A Charity Week’ around the UK. The Foundation is urging our supporters to pass on something wonderful by leaving a gift in your will, after you’ve taken care of friends and family.
Manchester United has a history built on legacies and the Foundation uses the passion for the club and its ethos of self-belief, belonging and youth development, to engage those who need our help.
It is encouraging fans that, by leaving a gift in your will, you could leave your own legacy by helping the Foundation to continue supporting the young people of Greater Manchester.
Nick Gilbert, Director of Development for Manchester United Foundation, said: “We are delighted to be part of this year’s ‘Remember A Charity Week’, encouraging our supporters to pass on their own legacy to the next generation of Foundation participants.
“Donations are crucial to our charity’s work, both now and long into the future. Gifts left in wills could help us to make a huge difference to young people in our local community for years to come.”
Former Strictly Come Dancing head judge and professional ballroom dancer, Len Goodman is leading the support of this year’s ‘Remember A Charity Week’ (7–13 September 2020).
Len commented: “This is my third year supporting ‘Remember A Charity Week’ and I’ve had the chance to meet some of the fantastic people working hard for charitable causes.
“I’ve included a charitable gift in my will after my family has been taken care of – it’s such a simple, easy thing to do that makes an enormous difference. Hopefully this week will inspire more people to do the same – just think what we could achieve if we all made that small change to our will!”
Rob Cope, Director of Remember A Charity, added: “‘Remember A Charity Week' has grown year-on-year and I’m immensely proud that the 200-strong consortium is coming together to celebrate in these challenging times.
“This week offers a fantastic opportunity for charities to inspire their supporters to consider a cause they care deeply about in their will and raise awareness of how this contributes to their vital work. Without this income, many charities simply would not exist and others would be forced to cut the crucial services so many of us rely on.”
