Anders Fighting Fit

Anders Lindegaard kept a second successive clean sheet for the Reserves and then revealed he still hopes to play again this season.

United may only have two games left - against Swansea and Sunderland - but the Dane is keen to perhaps feature against the Black Cats' first team after shutting out their Reserves at Moss Lane on Friday night. In any case, the keeper is striving to play at Euro 2012 after recovering from an ankle injury.

"I feel better and better," he told MUTV. "I feel a bit better than I felt the other night. It was a quiet day in the office but I feel good.

"It's about getting the timing right - most of the other things, you can work on in training but it's long balls behind defenders and stuff like that. It's about getting that right. There's still two games left this season I want to be [involved] in as much as I can. I'm fighting for a position in the Denmark squad in the Euros as well so I've got a lot to play for.

"I'm a proud Dane and want to represent my country and this is a good way for me to get the small things right."

Lindegaard admits he has not been a happy spectator as United have allowed City to gain control in the title race with only two games remaining.

"It's been horrible to sit on the sideline and watch it," he stated. "Not being part of the team as I want to be.

"The guys had done great and had a great run of games with a lot of victories but the last couple of matches, we've not had the results with us. But the title race is not over yet and the last two games are very important.

"Newcastle is a difficult game for City. It's one of the most difficult away games, maybe the most difficult away game, I've experienced because of the spectators and the stadium up there. Hopefully, we'll have a bit of luck but we'll focus on doing our own work right. We wouldn't be here if we didn't believe."
