Sir Alex Looks Ahead

Sir Alex Ferguson has started to look ahead to the future and life away from being in charge of Manchester United.

The boss signs off his remarkable reign against West Brom at The Hawthorns on Sunday and is already planning what to do with his time beyond the summer, even if he is desperate to get the three points.

In an exclusive interview with MUTV, he revealed he will obviously keep watching the Reds but will also focus on other interests away from the pitch.

"I've got 11 grandchildren and it keeps Cathy busy anyway!" he joked. "It's great and will be lovely seeing them grow up. Callum, I think, is nearly three and Frankie is almost three but then Jake is 19 so we've got quite a spread of ages.

"[As for other interests], [my son] Jason deals with the business side of it and we've had a lot of enquiries after the case study I did with Harvard University. It was very interesting and I enjoyed that. I thought it was quite a challenge to me and I still need challenges of a different nature so I'll continue with that.

"I'll probably go back and do some language lessons - things like that I'll enjoy. Another thing is the vineyards - I've got to drink them all dry!"

There was one final message for the supporters ahead of the weekend encounter against the Baggies.

"They've honoured me in a fantastic, special way," he stated. "Last Sunday is something the Fergusons will never forget. I can't lose my last game!"
