Moyes Lauds 'Blistering' Start

David Moyes hailed Manchester United's blistering start at Craven Cottage as the champions blitzed Fulham with three goals in the first 22 minutes.

The manager feels Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney's partnership really clicked and was impressed by the way that his forwards upset the home defence from the outset during the 3-1 triumph by the Thames.

"We're delighted that we picked up three points as it's never easy at Craven Cottage," he told MUTV.

"It was good, especially the opening 20 minutes, as we got off to a blistering start and the boys put us in a great position. We looked like we were ready to really rip them apart at times. We scored three and created a number of other moves that could have ended up in goals so I've got to say I was really pleased with that part of the game."

Van Persie and Rooney both got on the scoresheet again - the fourth time that they have netted in the same game under Moyes.

"It [the partnership] has already developed because they've been here so long," explained Moyes. "It can take time but I thought there were signs today that they were really clicking.

"I think they created chances for one another. It was great. Anyone who has been a centre-forward, you’re always looking for your partner to do well and they both did that today, they worked really well together, especially in the early part of the game."
