Adnan Up For BBC Award
Manchester United protégé Adnan Januzaj is among 10 contenders that have been shortlisted for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year 2013 award.
The prize is given to the outstanding sportsperson aged 17 or under on 1 January 2013. The shortlist was created through a combination of nominations made to the BBC and names of young sports people suggested to the Youth Sport Trust by governing bodies.
The top three will be named on the BBC's Blue Peter programme on 12 December, just three days before the prestigious awards ceremony takes place in front of an expected 12,000 crowd at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.
Januzaj has been United's breakout star of the season so far, having broken into the first team and signed a new five-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2018. The 18-year-old was also crowned ManUtd.com's Player of the Month for October.
Full shortlist: Adnan Januzaj, Dina Asher-Smith (Athlete), Jessica Judd (Athlete), Isaac Towers (Athlete), James Guy (Swimmer), Amy Marren (Swimmer), Amber Hill (Shooter), Charley Hull (Golfer), Rebekah Tiler (weightlifter) and Kimberley Woods (canoeist).
