Boss Focused On Reds' Response

David Moyes is more concerned with his Manchester United team’s response tonight than any potential backlash by Arsenal to their thrashing at Liverpool.

Both the Reds and the high-flying Gunners go into tonight’s game at the Emirates Stadium looking to respond to disappointing weekend results – a home draw against struggling Fulham and a humbling 5-1 defeat at Anfield respectively.

But Moyes knows that all he can do is focus on his players' reaction to the shock of conceding a last-gasp equaliser to the Cottagers after dominating Sunday’s game.

"You can only ever look after your own team," Moyes told MUTV. "We have to respond after losing a goal in the last seconds to draw when we should have won.

"Our players are hurting and are desperate to put it right. What Arsenal do is down to Arsene Wenger and his team.

"We need to get back to being resilient and hard to beat. We need to keep persevering and doing the right things."

Robin van Persie will be looking to add to his three goals in three games against Arsenal since joining the Reds from his former club, including the winner in November’s encounter at Old Trafford.

"Some players don’t like going back to their former clubs but he’s always enjoyed playing against them," Moyes added.

"I’ve only had him for the one game, when he scored the goal that beat them earlier in the season, but his record is very good.

"Arsenal against Manchester United has always been a big occasion and it’s an important game for both teams."
