Sneijder Would Consider Offer From Van Gaal

Wesley Sneijder admits he would find it tough to turn down an offer from Louis van Gaal to join him at Manchester United.

Van Gaal is set to take the reins at Old Trafford this summer once his involvement with the Dutch national team at the World Cup finals comes to a close.

As he prepares to return to club management, numerous high-profile names are being linked with moves to work under him.

Sneijder is among those to have figured prominently on United’s radar for some time – ever since he was pulling the strings at Inter Milan.

He is now on the books at Galatasaray and claims to be happy at the Turkish giants.

The 30-year-old playmaker is, however, a big fan of van Gaal and considers him to be among the finest tactical minds in the business.

It is for that reason that he has conceded that he would have to consider an approach from United’s new boss were one to be made in the upcoming transfer window.

Sneijder said while preparing himself for Holland’s next World Cup outing against Australia on Wednesday: “In the Netherlands, van Gaal is something like the head teacher of a school.

“Not everyone is lucky enough to get into his good books.

“He trains his players very hard and always expects the highest standards.

“I am happy at Galatasaray, I have established myself at the club and have settled in.

“However, if van Gaal were to make me an offer, I would have to at least consider it. Nobody from the Netherlands can simply reject van Gaal.”
