FA Cup 5th Round Draw: United To Face Preston

Manchester United will travel to Preston North End next in the FA Cup after the two North-West clubs won fourth-round replays on Tuesday night.

While the Reds beat Cambridge United at Old Trafford, the Lilywhites came back from 1-0 down at fellow League One club Sheffield United to win 3-1 with two second-half goals from striker Paul Gallagher sandwiching one from defender Paul Huntington. Preston's reward is a fifth-round meeting with United at Deepdale on Monday 16 February, with the tie kicking off at 19:45 GMT.

It will be the sixth time the two clubs have been pitted against each other in the FA Cup. The last meeting in the competition came on 5 February 1972 when a United side featuring George Best, Bobby Charlton and Denis Law won 2-0 at Preston's ground with both goals scored by Alan Gowling.
