Januzaj Making Strides In United Side

Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj was thrilled to help the Reds to a 3-1 win over Leicester City and feels the Reds could have scored more goals at Old Trafford.

Januzaj was named in an attacking line-up having started during the goalless draw with Cambridge, and he was regularly involved as Louis van Gaal's side dominated the game throughout.

The Belgian 19-year-old was pleased to get another 90 minutes under his belt and says the Reds could have won the game by a greater margin.

"I haven’t played too much, so it was good to get 90 minutes today," he told MUTV. “I was tired and had cramp in the last 15 minutes, but I knew I had a job to do.

“We played well, especially in the first half. We fought for each other. The second half wasn’t as good, but we’re happy with the result. We were good going forward and could have scored more than three goals, but hopefully we can take this into Tuesday night [against Cambridge] and win the game.

"We played at a higher tempo, especially in the first half. We moved the ball quickly and our finishing was also good. We went into the break 3-0 up, which was great. Although we should have scored more goals, at least we have the three points and we’re all happy with that."

It was another good workout for Januzaj, who spoke highly of former United defender Danny Simpson, the man tasked with marking him at Old Trafford. “Danny was a tough opponent to get past on the wing," he added. "So I thought it was a really good battle between the two of us."
