FA Cup 5th Round Draw: United Face Shrewsbury For The First Time

Manchester United will meet Shrewsbury Town in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The Reds will travel to New Meadow to take on the League One side for the first time ever in the club's history. The Shrews upset Sheffield Wednesday 3-2 in the last round thanks to an injury-time winner, one of very few giantkilling acts.

Warren Joyce's Reserves did play at the Shropshire-based stadium in the summer of 2011, losing 2-1 with Danny Drinkwater, now starring for Leicester City in the top flight, on the scoresheet. In another friendly between the clubs, back in 2000, United won 8-1 as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Quinton Fortune both grabbed doubles.

The first pairing out of the hat was Chelsea's clash with Manchester City while holders Arsenal have a home game against Hull City in a repeat of the 2014 final.

Ruud Gullit and Mark Lawrenson conducted the draw at Stadium:MK following Milton Keynes Dons' 5-1 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

Full fifth-round draw:
Chelsea v Manchester City
Reading v West Brom/Peterborough United
Watford v Leeds United
Shrewsbury Town v Manchester United
Blackburn Rovers v Liverpool/West Ham
Tottenham Hotspur v Crystal Palace
Arsenal v Hull City
Bournemouth v Everton

The ties will be played between 19 and 22 February.
