Powell Joins Hull City On Loan

Manchester United forward Nick Powell has joined Hull City on loan for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old returned from injury late last year and came off the bench in December's first-team games against Wolfsburg and Bournemouth.

Powell scored twice in the 6-1 thumping of Leicester City, one of his former loan clubs, at Under-21 level as he proved his return to fitness for Warren Joyce's side.

A deal was reached in the final stages of the January transfer window and the switch to Steve Bruce's promotion-chasing Tigers is the third temporary transfer for the England Under-21 international.

In an interview with Hull's official website, Powell said he had made the loan move for "personal reasons", before adding: "I wanted to get more game-time. I haven't played in a long time and I've been injured quite a lot. Hopefully that's in the past for me now - I'm striving to get more games and play football again."
