Pogba Given Permission To Have Manchester United Medical
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been given permission to undergo a medical with Manchester United.
The news means that the summer's biggest transfer is a major step closer to completion ahead of United's opening Premier League game against Bournemouth on August 14, live on Sky Sports.
Pogba had been on holiday in the United States while his agent Mino Raiola tried to broker a world-record £100m move for the France midfielder.
Sky sources revealed earlier this week that a deal is now agreed in principle between the clubs.
And on Friday, United boss Jose Mourinho said the club was trying "everything to close the market as quickly as possible".
Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri revealed on Saturday that he had summoned Pogba back to Italy to resume training on Monday.
But the final hurdles in the drawn-out saga appear now to have been jumped, and Pogba will now begin the process of becoming a United player for the second time by undergoing his medical.
Pogba left United in 2012 on a free transfer, but is close to returning for what will be a world record fee.
Mourinho has so far signed defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal, midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund and former Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
