Zambrotta: Ibrahimovic Could End career In India
Manchester United's Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be lured to Delhi Dynamos, says former Juventus team-mate Gianluca Zambrotta.
Italian World Cup winner Zambrotta took over as manager of the Indian side following the end of his playing career, which took him to the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan.
The former defender now wants to persuade United's 35-year-old striker Ibrahimovic to follow a similar route and end his career in the Indian Super League.
"Given his fan following in India, I think Zlatan would want to come and end his career here," Zambrotta told Indian Express.
"On my end, I will definitely try and convince him to play for Delhi Dynamos.
"India will soon be a big destination for international football. Given the level of competitiveness in the Indian Super League and the quality of Indian players, I am sure it will be amongst the top five football leagues of the world in the next decade."
Former Arsenal players Nicolas Anelka and Robert Pires have already ventured into the emerging league, which began in 2013, with a number of players opting to end their playing days in India rather than MLS or in China.
Ibrahimovic has scored five Premier League goals since being brought to Old Trafford by Jose Mourinho this summer, but has failed to register in his last three top-flight games.
United travel to Anfield to face Liverpool, live on Monday Night Football, a fixture which Mourinho insists will not define his side's season.
