Mourinho Rewards Coaching Students

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho gave two budding coaches the chance to work behind the scenes at the club's Aon Training Complex this week.

Hugo Pereira - who currently oversees the youth players at Norwegian club Rosenborg - was handpicked by the United boss after enrolling on a course at the University of Lisbon in 2016.

The course was divided up in eight modules with different themes, all of which had been coordinated by Mourinho. As a result of his outstanding performance, Pereira was invited to join Jose in Manchester and contribute to preparations for this weekend's game against Stoke City.

"The course in itself was fantastic," Pereira told RBK.no. "The internship at Manchester United was, of course, a very good bonus for me, too. I learned a lot, and I think the experience has certainly made me a better coach. And the week in Manchester will only add to that."

By chance, the other winner among the many participants was also from Norway. Martin Reier is a former player under Pereira in the country's Follo region, and is currently living in Portugal.

"From the start we had a goal to be the top two, but it’s amazing that it also turned out this way in the end," Pereira added. "It will be very interesting to follow the week in training, and all the preparations. And also to see the result on the field in Stoke."
